Keywords:

Labor relations have been changing in recent years and the pandemic caused by SARS-Cov-2 has accelerated and enhanced this process, reaching all regions of Brazil and impacting the economy and, as a consequence, the scales of development. As of the last labor reform, sanctioned by Law 13,467 of 2017, new rules have changed the routine of employees and employers, such as, for example, the outsourcing of the core activity and the regulation of teleworking. The objective of this essay was, through a bibliographic search, to analyze the economic impacts of technology in the world of work in this period of pandemic and the possible consequences in the scales of regional development. The results show the need for small and medium-sized companies to adapt to the virtual world to remain active. Likewise, professionals from different activities need to reinvent themselves in view of the fact that technology does not allow the continuity of all areas, such as, for example, companies that carry out university night transport that are typical of the northwest region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
