Abstract

The objective of the article is to analyze the scientific production on social immersion with a focus on the main Brazilian  studies on this phenomenon.  The CAPES/ MEC   (Coordination   for  the   Improvement   of   Higher   Education   Personnel/Ministry   of Education of Brazil) journals was used as a research source and the articles  were   selected   according   to   the   theme   “social immersion” in their titles, words and summaries. For this purpose, articles published in Brazil were examined, listing  the   main studies between the years 2005 to 2017. It is possible to perceive a vitality  in   the   debates   about   social   immersion,   in   the perspective that the new mission of economic development  is   integrated   through   relationships. It   is   concluded   that   the phenomenon of social immersion does not occur in an isolated way, in this sense Brazilian  productions   seek   to   analyze   the relationships without taking into account that they are immersed in a social process thus creating research gaps.
