CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PRACTICES IN AUTOMOTIVE DEALERSHIPS

Corporate governance is related to the way of directing and monitoring the activities that organizations carry out. The use of good governance practices align interests and add value, quality and efficiency to management and the organization. Thus, this article aimed to verify how corporate governance occurs in automotive dealerships. The method used was qualitative research, of a descriptive character, through multi cases and documentary research. As well as the 8 Ps methodology, proposed by Rossetti and Andrade (2012), which allows to identify, in eight dimensions (property, principles, purposes, roles, power, practices, people and perpetuity). Data analysis was performed in a quantitative way, using descriptive statistics procedures (minimum, maximum, average and standard deviation). The results found were that the concessionaires under study use the principles of corporate governance, have well-defined boards, and use the code of best corporate governance practices of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC).
